About
Content that matters
My passion is working with English texts and visuals that engage and inspire, where possible on issues that make a difference.
Working with words and images
Throughout my working life as a communications consultant, web manager and editor and (UK) lawyer, I have edited or written texts (in English). I set up VanGo Creative Content four years ago, after working as web editor for The Pew Charitable Trusts in Brussels.
I really enjoy creating concise, convincing web copy, optimised for SEO, that communicates a client’s message. It is rewarding to contribute to the development of a well-designed website. I can work directly in a content management system and create web pages.
A keen photographer, I can also take or edit images and create infographics: for example, I took photos of meeting delegates as digital editor for the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD).
I also edit texts written by non-native English speakers, translate from Dutch to English, and adapt web content for specific audiences (transcreation).
My strengths
Creativity, curiosity, commitment, versatility, an eye for detail and structure, and a love of the English language.
When I'm not working...
I enjoy walking in nature, travel and giving meditation and Inner Peace courses. Personal creative writing projects include lyrics, opera librettos and poetry.
CV video clip
Usually I prefer to be behind the camera, but I also like to try out the latest web innovations. So here's a short video, made soon after I set up VanGo Creative Content, on my achievements as web manager and editor for the Pew Charitable Trusts. |
